The future of this country depends on the quality of the young people that we produce.” – Zweli Sokhela
A Spark That Became a Movement
What started as a small youth ministry wing in 1993 has grown into one of the most impactful youth movements in South Africa — Fox Fire Youth Ministry. Originally established to assist with a local church plant, the ministry soon discovered a greater calling: to equip and empower young people to serve their generation through faith, purpose, and peer-to-peer influence.
Today, Fox Fire stands as a beacon of hope and transformation — shaping leaders, missionaries, and changemakers who carry the fire of Christ wherever they go.

Who We’re Looking For
Fox Fire is more than just a program — it’s a journey of discovery. We’re calling on young people between 18 and 24 years old who are eager to explore who they are and who they’re becoming.
If you’re someone who’s passionate about Christ, ready to serve your generation, and have completed matric or university, then this might be the adventure you’ve been waiting for.
What You’ll Gain from the Fox Fire Experience
Our program is built on four key pillars, each designed to shape you holistically — spiritually, mentally, and practically:
🌍 Adventure
A life with Christ is far from boring — it’s an adventure. You’ll step out of your comfort zone, travel to new places, and experience firsthand how faith in action transforms lives.
🎯 Training
We believe in equipping young people for ministry and for life. Through self-development and leadership training, participants gain insight into their future career paths — choosing studies and vocations that align with their passion and purpose, not just academics.
🌎 Exposure
Participants are exposed to diverse countries, cultures, and communities — discovering the beauty and breadth of God’s creation. Ministry trips across Africa open eyes and hearts to new perspectives on faith, unity, and service.
💡 Life Skills
Fox Fire goes beyond ministry training. We provide practical life skills that empower youth for the real world — from obtaining a driver’s license to first aid, counselling, and computer literacy. These accreditations not only enhance employability but also build confidence and independence.
A Ministry That Travels with Purpose
Every year, the Fox Fire team takes ministry beyond borders. On average, they travel to three African countries annually, spreading hope and the message of Christ.
In 2025, the team will minister in Zimbabwe and Botswana — and in 2026, they’re adding Namibia to the list.
These mission trips offer young people the opportunity to serve, learn, and lead, impacting communities and returning home transformed.

Impact That Lasts Beyond the Program
The true success of Fox Fire lies in the stories of its alumni. Many are now leaders in their churches, workplaces, and communities. Some have gone on to full-time ministry, while others have become university graduates and professionals making tangible change in society.
Despite high unemployment rates in South Africa, none of the current Fox Fire members are unemployed — a testament to the skills, confidence, and resilience the program instills.
Through mentoring, career guidance, and exposure, Fox Fire continues to restore hope and equip young people to thrive. Every alumnus is proof that when you ignite the fire within, it burns bright enough to light the world around you.

Conclusion
From its humble beginnings in 1993 to becoming a life-changing force today, Fox Fire Youth Ministry remains committed to one mission: empowering the next generation to live boldly for Christ and impact the world.
If you’re ready to discover your purpose, embrace the adventure, and set your world ablaze with faith — Fox Fire is waiting for you.
