Just a short train ride from Freiburg station and nestled deep in the Black Forest, Titisee is one of those places every Azubi should visit for a day trip. It offers the perfect mix of relaxation and exploration, where visitors can experience authentic Black Forest cuisine, local drinks, and traditional souvenirs while enjoying the scenic lakeside atmosphere.

From an Azubi’s (apprentice’s) perspective, Titisee is one of those places that feels like a mini escape from everyday work life. After spending most days in training or at the company, visiting Titisee gives you a completely different pace. The lake, surrounded by the Black Forest, has a calm and refreshing atmosphere that helps you switch off from deadlines, tasks, routine and the infamous ‘Berichtsheft’.

What stands out most is how easy it is to enjoy your time without needing a big budget, which is important as an Azubi, as we earn just enough to survive. By using the Deutschland ticket, you can make your way to Titisee and walk along the lake, sit with friends, or relax and enjoy the view. In summer, activities like swimming or renting a pedal boat are popular, while in winter the area feels quieter and more reflective.

We are firm believers that various environments bring our various personalities. How you spend time with fellow colleagues at work would be different to how you will spend time with them in different aspects of life. For this reason, it’s also a good place to go with fellow apprentices. Spending time together outside of work strengthens friendships and makes the whole training experience more enjoyable. Instead of just being colleagues, you actually build connections.

Overall, Titisee offers a simple but valuable break from everyday Azubi life. Titisee is a place where you can recharge, have fun, and come back feeling a bit more balanced. Titisee is highly recommended for those doing apprenticeships in Baden-Württemberg.
