This weekend, the X-Factored Youth crew headed to Stuttgart to spend time with fellow young South Africans from Lungelo Youth Development (LYD), who are currently completing their volunteer year in the city. Through the X-Factored Youth network, LYD members Amahle Maphumulo and Nhlakanipho Mlambo were joined by Europa Park Azubis Alex Khumalo and Rafeeqah Bishop — making it a weekend to remember!

Upon arriving in Stuttgart, Nhlakanipho and Amahle welcomed us warmly and took on the role of tour guides, showing us the places they’ve grown fond of during their stay. From their favourite chill spots to unique corners of the city, we got a glimpse into their everyday life abroad. Later in the evening, we headed to Amahle’s place for dinner, where we had the pleasure of meeting her incredibly kind host family. They shared insights about Stuttgart, recommended places to visit, and welcomed us with genuine warmth. After a long evening of conversations, we called it a night — gearing up for our official Stuttgart takeover the next morning.

The next day started bright and early as we met at the Hauptbahnhof to begin our journey to the iconic Mercedes-Benz Museum. The excitement was written on everyone’s faces as we made our way to one of Stuttgart’s most celebrated landmarks.

And then came the surprise! Just as we stepped into the museum, we unexpectedly met another South African — Khotso, who is currently completing his nursing Ausbildung in the city. The joy of meeting a fellow South African so far from home was unmatched. Naturally, he joined the adventure, and we explored the museum together as one big crew.

X-Factored Youth would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Nhlakanipho and Amahle for hosting the Europa Park Azubis and for their hospitality throughout the weekend. A special thank you as well to Khotso for his openness and joining in on the fun. Your energy, warmth, and willingness to connect truly embody the spirit of a young, determined South African community abroad.

At X-Factored Youth, we pride ourselves on connecting and supporting young South Africans who work, study, or volunteer in Germany. This weekend was the perfect example of what happens when we come together — community, encouragement, and unforgettable memories.
